Description |
Carved limestone architrave, or entablature, over the third story windows from the Mons Anderson Building in downtown La Crosse, on the corner of 2nd St. and Main St. The sign is in four pieces that together form the words "Mons Anderson's Building" and a design of 3 legs running inside a circle, known as a "triskelion". A)This is the piece from the far left, with the letters MONS carved into it. 18 inches high by 90 inches wide. B)This is the piece second from the left, with the letters ANDERS carved into it. 18 inches high by 87 inches wide. C)This is the piece second from the right, with the letters ON'S BUI carved into it. 18 inches by 93 inches. D)This is the piece from the far right, containing the letters LDING and the symbol of 3 running legs enclosed within a circle, known as a triskelion. 18 inches high by 93 wide. |
