Edward Higbee graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a law degree in 1876. He practiced law in Arcadia and then moved to La Crosse and lived at 1602 Ferry Street. His first wife died in 1886, and Edward married Grace Fassett in 1905. Edward practiced law in La Crosse with his son Jesse and was a Wisconsin Circuit Court judge. He died in 1935 and is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery. This biography was written by relative Richard O'Neill. |

This is a second stem and mouth piece for pipe 2004.022.01. Of same materials: cherrywood, braid-covered leather and carved horn, but smaller overall. The carved horn section between the stiff stem and flexible hose has an extra ring of ornamental carved horn.
