Notes |
Nathan Myrick first came to La Crosse in 1841. He was a young fur trader, and he established the trading post in what would would become La Crosse in 1842. He was also the first postmaster of La Crosse. Due to financial and medical setbacks, the Myricks left La Crosse in 1848. |

Hand made leather bag for carrying ammunition. Attached powderhorn is undecorated and has a wooden plug in the wide end. That end is attached to strap with a nail head, the narrow end is tied onto the strap. Bag has flap with button hole, and metal button on bag. 1" wide buckle on strap has a cast lion's head on either end.
