Boat anchor believed to be from Steamer J. S. The Admiralty Pattern anchor, also known as a "Fisherman", consists of a central shank with a ring or shackle for attaching the rode (the rope, chain, or cable connecting the ship and the anchor). |

The Steamer J.S. was destroyed by fire on June 25, 1910, on the Mississippi River north of Victory, Wisconsin. Over 110 people escaped from this boat, with the loss of only two lives. |
