WWI (possibly aviation) hat with ear flaps, olive green, made from cotton duck fabric on the outside, lined with dark green wool on the inside, ear flaps have strings that tie under the chin. The inside label has the words "New York Depot, John P. Haplon, Size 7 3/8 I. Pachner & Son, Inc. Contract No. 1351. Oct. 13, 1917" printed in ink, as well as the handwritten words "A M Hill 1st Lieutenant, 121 Machine Gun Battalion." |

The red book lists the donor as Alvina M Hill, but there was no deed of gift to be found. The label says that the hat belonged to A M Hill, 1st Lieutenant of the 121 Machine Gun Battalion." |
